It’s Murder Being Famous When Nobody Has Heard of You

When you are in business it is terrible being famous when nobody has heard of you. One of the best ways to improve your profile is to write a book or information pamphlet. There is a book inside each of us. The difficult job is how do we get the book out in the open? Last year 2008 I invested in a writing course, designed by a leading UK Author Nick Daws, the course gave me ideas and guidelines that enabled me to write a new book in less than 28 days. Since then I have written a further 6 books, written for Readers Digest and many National Newspapers. If you are interested in writing a book or producing an information pamphlet to improve your profile in you particularly business, click on MAKE ME FAMOUS before you do a tip. If you decided to invest in the course sign yourself up as an affiliate first then you get the affiliates commission on the course you buy. This has the effect of reducing the cost by almost 50%.
PS: I look forward to reading your book.

I am an avid reader and read anything from the backs of beermats, product lables and any book I can get my hands on. The only book I can recall not being able to get engrossed in is Lord Of The Rings? I don’t often recommend books because I tell people about them and they say things like “You only recommended that book to get me to improve my sales”? Wow! there’s me thinking I am doing somebody a favour. I am happy to recommend this book by Tim Ferris whatever it is you are wanting to get out of your life, your work, your profession, there is something in this book for you. Simple Solutions To A Stress Free Life

How often have you been late for, or missed, an appointment because you can’t find your car keys or glasses, or other item of importance? Always place these items in exactly the same spot every time you enter your home or office. Result seconds, even minutes saved every time you go to your car. This appears simple, believe me, a cast of thousands do not practice this simple time saving idea. They waste weeks of their lives looking for car keys or other items before going out.
As a soldier my life was ruled and organised by Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Whatever I or other soldiers did in our military life there was an SOP guiding and controlling that action. I think it is fair to say that your level of success is directly proportional to your level of planning and control.
Take the time to decide what SOPs you need in your life. Write down the SOP then follow it to the ‘N’th degree.
How often have you entered ‘Heart Attack Alley’ through stress because you are low on petrol (Gas in US) or have run out? Write an SOP that compels you to fill your tank every time it sinks to a quarter on your fuel indicator. Result another stress removed.

Winner V Loser

The Winner is always part of the answer;
The Loser is always part of the problem;
The Winner always has a plan;
The Loser always has an excuse
The Winner says “Let me do it for you;”
The Loser says “That’s not my job;”
The Winner sees an answer for every problem;
The Loser sees a problem for every answer;
The Winner sees a Green near every Sand Trap;
The Loser sees two or three Sand Traps near every Green;
The Winner says, “It may be difficult but it’s possible;”
The Loser says, “it may be possible but it’s too difficult.”
In my oponion it is easier and more enjoyable to be
A WINNER

Many years ago as a precocious teenager I was gradely dischuffed with my lot. I remember blurting out to the Franciscan Priest that ran our church youth club. I said the problem is life isn’t fair and it certainly isn’t easy. He left me shocked and not a little stunned he said:
“Life Isn’t Easy, But it is Rewarding”
WOW! how did a priest know that. But hey guys its OK a priest saying that but can I ask what do you think?
Bra’s Go Bust

Bra Manufacturers go bust.
Builders go to the wall.
Clock Makers wind up.
Glaziers crash.
Launderettes are taken to the cleaners.
Paper manufactures fold.
Plumbers go down the pan.
I would suggest lack of success does not happen to businesses because they lack expertise in what they do. In my experience very few businesses fold due to a lack of technical skills. Many businesses lack success due to one fundamental, they do not have sufficient paying customers to maintain a viable profit.
Why is this? When during these times most Governments are encouraging people to be bold and start up their own business? Why would they do that when so many are closing their doors? Governments will offer assistance to any person wanting to start a new business. This help is in the form of business development courses. skill courses, business management and many other skills. There are many agencies in place to help the potential entrepreneur to ‘go it alone’.
The one thing many of these agencies have in common is their lack of, if not fear of, advising the entrepreneur on how to find new business. They are reluctant to advise how to prospect for new business, in my opinion this is due to the perceived stigma attached to sales? As a professional salesman of over 40 years I am not aware of any stigma attached to sales? Why then do these agency people think there is a stigma, in my opinion it is because many of them are unsuccessful in their own right as business people? They want people to be successful in all that they do so long as it does not appear as though selling is involved? I have real difficulty with this concept. I have a saying
“Nothing happens until a sale is made”
In some countries in particular UK, ‘Selling‘ is considered a dirty word. The Government agencies can explain charging structures even show you how to complete your ‘ Tax Return’ but what about ‘grass roots‘ help in procuring new business? I am not aware of any agency to offer Pro Selling Tips or Selling Ideas.
I have attended many of these courses in order to assess the value. Without doubt they prepare people for the pitfalls of business. What they don’t do is prepare them to become a hunter of new business. At best they will broach the subject of finding customers by advising entrepreneurs to advertise in Yellow Pages or put adverts in the local store windows. Nothing wrong with these methods however experience tells us, these methods will not keep any trade or calling in sufficient profitable work, not for any length of time.
The famous Phillias T Barnum said.
“Without prospecting for new business, something
Terrible happens”
“NOTHING”.
That is not far from the truth!
Like every other skill……….
Like every other skill ‘prospecting for new business‘ is a skill that can be taught and easily learned. Using the correct method of prospecting for new business and learning to identify your target market, it rapidly becomes obvious that people are prepared to ‘buy’ your products and services and there is no need to ’sell’ them your products and services, Because in my experience.
“Few people like to be sold to but most people like to buy”.
